Positive Parenting Group Work and Intensive Parenting Intervention
BURMORE Solutions offers groups for parents aimed at improving parenting strategies. Groups are offered in collaboration with community based agencies and are therefore often run in local community venues.
We offer a Positive Parenting Solution Focused group over 8 sessions focusing on:
Using parental attention to change behaviour, play / special time with children or young people, praise and encouragement, reward systems, how to set rules, how to use active ignoring to reduce misbehaviour, using time out and other sanctions and solution building with children and young people.
BURMORE Solutions offers an Intensive Parenting Intervention for families who are under stress and at risk of breakdown. We use a solution focused support model, focusing on strengths and skills, but also assisting parents with the everyday demands of parenting. These interventions are tailored to fit the need of the client and the referrer.
We also offer the “Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities” parenting course. This is one of the 3 government accredited courses and runs over a 13 week period. This focuses on:
building relationships
positive parenting strategies
community networks and support
family and community violence
